As a competitive athlete who competed in both varsity volleyball and basketball at the university level, Brendan has had his fair share of sport related injuries. During his undergraduate in Kinesiology at University of Alberta Augustana Campus, Brendan transitioned from a player to the volleyball program’s strength and conditioning coach for the 2015 ACAC championship winning Vikings. Concurrently, Brendan coached U15-U18 club volleyball and worked with Volleyball Alberta’s developmental programs.

After graduation Brendan embarked on a career as a kinesiologist in the rehab industry, treating a diverse range of patients through exercise-based interventions. This experience propelled Brendan into further education, ultimately completing his master’s degree in physical therapy (with distinction) at Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh, Scotland. He completed his dissertation on patellar tendon loading programming while competing on the university’s men’s basketball team and Edinburgh’s travelling hockey team.

Post-graduation, Brendan accepted a role in a neurological rehabilitation ward, where he treated patients with traumatic brain injuries, cognitive impairments, strokes, and other neurological disorders. Upon returning to Edmonton, he returned to his athletic roots treating sports injuries in a sports therapy clinic.

With experience working and training in both Canada and the United Kingdom, Brendan has developed a patient-focused treatment style that centers on individualized rehab goals. By utilizing a person-centered approach, he enables you to play an active role in your rehabilitation plan, which focuses on what is important to you. Whether your aim is to return to elite-level sport, run your first 10km race, or play recreation sports without pain, Brendan is here to guide you towards your goals.
